Cynthia Nixon - Nixon Slams Insensitive Press

LATEST: Actress CYNTHIA NIXON has criticised the media for recently alleging she underwent cosmetic surgery - because she actually had a breast cancer check-up.

The Sex and the City star was snapped entering a New York hospital earlier this month (Jun08) and had a "breast augmentation", according to the New York Post's gossip column Page Six.

But she insists her medical visit was for a completely different reason.

She tells the New York Daily News, "I was at St Luke's Roosevelt Hospital for my three-monthly checkup. I was in the Oncology department. I guess they (the press) think that means plastic surgery.

"We got a call from the Post (the paper that ran the story) asking if I'd had a breast augmentation, and my publicist laughed at them and said, 'No, of course not.' But they printed it anyway."

Nixon, 42, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006 and went public with the news in April (08) - but she still undergoes quarterly checks to make sure the disease has not returned.

She adds, "If I was going to get a boob job, wouldn't it make sense that I'd get it before Sex and the City (the movie)?"

Old-school hip-hop, traditional graeco-Roman rock, and spooling electronic vibraharp were the initial factors behind the building of the alternative metal quintet Linkin Park. The band's Southern Californian musical roots were likewise an rudimentary basis, for drummer Rob Bourdon, guitarist Brad Delson, and MC/vocalist Mike Shinoda formed a tight friendly relationship while still in high gear schoolhouse. Shortly after graduation exercise, nontextual matter scholar and DJ Joseph Hahn hooked up with bassist Dave "Phoenix" Farrell and Shinoda for the ring Xero. Hybrid Theory came by and by, but the lot opted on the diagnose Linkin Park when isaac M. Singer Chester Bennington was the last piece added to the lot in 1999. Soon the ring became a noticeable human face at the Whisky as well as favorites in and around Los Angeles. Zomba Music's Jeff Blue was one of the few wHO didn't turn the band down for a contract at the turn of the millenary -- Linkin Park signed to Warner Bros. after being turned depressed trey multiplication in tardy 1999 and got to work on their debut album. Taking a piece from their past, they named the album Crossbreed Theory. It was released in strike 2000 and it showcased their likes for fellow alternative acts such as the Deftones, the Roots, Aphex Twin, and Nine Inch Nails. The Dust Brothers also collaborated on the track record, as considerably as producer Don Gilmore (Pearl Jam, Eve 6, Tracy Bonham). Singles such as "Crawling" and "Unitary Step Closer" were massive wireless hits and video favorites among the TRL crowd on MTV. Joint tours with Family Values and the Project: Revolution Tour with Cypress Hill lED the band to wager 324 shows in 2001. Linkin Park was in demand. Come January 2002, Cross Theory received three Grammy nominations, for Best Rock Album and Best New Artist. A month later, Linkin Park walked away with an award for Best Hard Rock Performance for "Creeping." They spent the remainder of the year holed up in the studio, once more on the job with Gilmore, recording a followup to their eight-times-platinum debut Cross Theory.

Linkin Park's soph effort, Meteora, was released in March 2003; the low single, "Somewhere I Belong," was an exigent strike. The second yearbook Projekt Revolution tour got underway in spring 2003 with Linkin Park connexion Mudvayne, Xzibit, and Blindside; Summer Sanitarium dates with Metallica, Limp Bizkit, Mudvayne, and the Deftones followed in July and August. Results of the latter appeared by the end of the year on Live in Texas. In recent 2004, Linkin Park embarked on their nearly challenging project all the same: Collision Course, a quislingism with king-of-the-mountain rapper Jay-Z, which introduced the commercial-grade earth to the conception of mash-ups (remixes that sample heavily from at least two popular songs). Jay-Z also encouraged cofounder Mike Shinoda to explore the possibilities of a solo hip-hop project. He did, dubbed the externalise Fort Minor, and released the album The Rising Tied in 2005 with Jay-Z as executive producer. The mathematical group came back together in 2006 and began work out on their next album. With Shinoda and Rick Rubin (Run-D.M.C., Red Hot Chili Peppers, Johnny Cash) share-out the production course credit, Transactions to Midnight arrived in 2007.
